The Piper Cherokee was designed by Piper Aircraft as a two seat or four seat aircraft for flight training, personal use or air taxi. The aircraft features a single engine, low mounted wings and a tricycle landing gear. Designed with a single door, the plane can be accessed by stepping onto the wing. The aircraft took its first flight in 1960 and is still in production total. 32,778 have been built so far.
