The Harrier II was a jet aircraft which was used previous by the Royal Air Force and Royal Navy. The aircraft’s function was predominantly used for air interdiction and close air support missions. The Harrier II retired in March 2011 due to budgetary pressures and was replaced by the Lockhead Martin F-35 Lightning II.
