F/A 18 Hornet was designed by McDonnell Douglas in 1983 as a fighter and attack aircraft for use by the US Navy and Marine Corps. The F/A 18 was an extremely versatile aircraft with the ability to perform multiple roles including escort fighter, air strikes ad aerial reconnaissance. Although the aircraft was a valuable asset with the ability to carry various weapons, it was also criticized for its lack of range and payload. The F/A 18 Hornet participated in both the 191 Gulf War and 2003 Iraq war.
